Rebuilding a 140+ Page Website

Viqu approached the project after the end of a long-term agency contract. The website was running on a fully custom-built agency theme with extensive dependencies and undocumented logic.

Although the site appeared functional on the surface, it was operationally fragile — even minor plugin updates caused immediate breakage.

The goal was not cosmetic redesign alone, but complete technical liberation, long-term stability, and a clean, maintainable WordPress foundation.

The Challenge

  • 140+ pages with multiple custom post types
  • Custom theme tightly coupled to Backend logic
  • No clear page structures
  • Any plugin update caused layout or functional failures
  • High dependency risk after agency disengagement
  • No clean handover documentation

Continuing on the existing stack was unsustainable and high-risk.

The Solution

Rather than patching an unstable system, the site was fully decoupled from the agency theme.

  • Migrated from the custom agency theme to Hello Elementor
  • Rebuilt all layouts using Elementor Pro
  • Recreated and optimized all custom post types
  • Standardized content structures for scalability
  • Eliminated hard-coded dependencies and fragile hooks
  • Introduced a maintainable system usable by internal teams

This ensured the site could evolve without developer lock-in.
